To ignite the leadership potential of its members, Circle K International has created Spark! — a four-day interactive program in which participants explore their leadership style.
Thanks to a grant from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund — and the gifts that made it possible — Spark! offers networking and problem-solving activities in a safe and encouraging environment.
The second annual Spark! program took place May 30-June 2, 2019, in Chicago. The grant from the Children’s Fund helped offset registration expenses for the 21 participants. With that support, they could get the most from Spark! — with less burden from the costs of room and board, leadership workshops, service projects in the local community and more.
At Spark!, a nominated group of emerging leaders attend large- and small-group workshops. The attendees also serve their host community by conducting research and suggesting solutions for a specific challenge that the community is facing.
“Each one of us took something away,” said Aaron Sinclair of the CKI Club at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. “For me it was finding my passion and that motivation to keep going.”
Aaron even called his Spark! experience “life-changing.”
A key goal of the program is to help participants learn about themselves in a way they can use during the rest of their Circle K experience — and throughout their lives.
