For a limited time, Kiwanians can earn a Mother’s Day Zeller pin and medallion, when they make a contribution or fulfill a pledge of US$1,250 to The Eliminate Project.

The Mother’s Day Zeller was originally offered only during the first five years of The Eliminate Project. With a desire to help individuals, clubs, and districts fulfill their pledges, Kiwanis International President Jane Erickson helped arrange to offer the popular award again.

“Mother’s Day has always been special to me and I can’t imagine a better way to live out our devotion to the mothers in our lives than by making gifts that protect mothers and babies who are at risk of death,” says Erickson.

Through The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis and its partner UNICEF have raised US$110 million in cash and pledges. With US$67.2 million collected in cash, it’s imperative that all Kiwanians fulfill the pledges that make up the US$110 million so that the millions of mothers and their children will be able to celebrate Mother’s Days far into the future.

Donors are advised to make their gifts prior to April 28, 2017 in order to ensure the likelihood they will receive their pins and medallions prior to Mother’s Day, May 14. They can also have the awards shipped to a recipient of their choosing. Gifts in honor or memory of someone’s mother can be made to The Eliminate Project at any time, however gifts and pledges for the Mother’s Day Zeller Award will only be accepted through Mother’s Day, May 14.

Because it had been previously discontinued, donors may not use previously donated funds to request a Mother’s Day Zeller. For this unique opportunity, donors are not required to have an open club or district pledge to make an individual pledge for a Mother’s Day Zeller. As with all pledges, the award will be shipped once the pledge has been fulfilled.

“I’m asking all Kiwanians to demonstrate how strongly they feel about the mothers in their lives. Please make a gift of US$1,250—or any amount—to The Eliminate Project,” says Erickson.
