In honor of the many students going back to school, we are proud to introduce two more of our 2015–16 scholarship recipients. Keep an eye out for more scholarship recipients’ stories in the coming weeks as we celebrate these outstanding students.

Anne Elise Bolton and Clara Starkey are devoted to improving the lives of children. They have served their communities through their involvement with the Kiwanis family. As a result, they were awarded this year’s 2016 Cunat International Scholarships.

Anne Elise Bolton was president of the Key Club at Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head, Maryland. Anne Elise will attend Campbell University in North Carolina this fall and plans to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.

Clara Starkey is president of her Circle K International club at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indiana. She is studying finance and with a minor in leadership and economics. Prior to college, Clara was in the Greenfield-Central High School Key Club in Indiana.

While serving as 1992–93 governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa Kiwanis District, Brian Cunat and his wife, Miki, established a scholarship fund to recognize and support Kiwanis-family members setting out to make a difference in people’s lives. The Cunats believe that life goals should include helping others and making the world a better place for all.
