527 clubs achieve Today Club recognition

Sep 09, 2014
Today Club recognition
In the inaugural year of the Today Club program, 527 clubs will already be recognized as Today Clubs because of their members’ generous giving to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund.

What is a Today Club?

When a club or an individual makes a gift of today, they are supporting the Kiwanis International Foundation’s Children’s Fund, which in turn supports the grants awarded to SLPs, clubs, districts and district foundations. In this way, gifts allow Kiwanians to make an impact today—in the lives of children near and far.

A Today Club is one way in which our foundation recognizes clubs in which member giving to the Children’s Fund is at least US$10 per member. By reaching this average, a club is recognized as a Blue-Level Today Club. The program provides further recognition for clubs that give at greater per-member averages:

  • Silver-Level: $25 per member average
  • Gold-Level: $50 per member average
  • Diamond-Level: $100 per member average

In the program’s first year, there are currently 456 Blue-Level, 53 Silver-Level and 9 Gold-Level Today Clubs. And there are already 9 Diamond-Level Today Clubs:

  • Pharr Sunrise Breakfast (Texas-Oklahoma District)
  • Northeast Fort Wayne (Indiana District)
  • Vernon-Four Seasons (Pacific Northwest District)
  • Decatur (Illinois-Eastern Iowa District)
  • Cheatham County (Kentucky-Tennessee District)
  • West Des Moines (Nebraska-Iowa District)
  • Snohomish (Pacific Northwest District)
  • Country Homes, Spokane (Pacific Northwest District)
  • Brookfield (Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District)
It looks like more good news is on the way: 288 clubs are just a couple of dollars per member average away from achieving Blue-Level status. We look forward to adding them to the Today Club recognition list before the end of the 2013–14 year.
