District Grant program

The District Grant program provides short-term grants to qualifying Kiwanis districts to address the unmet needs of children around the world.

How they’re funded:

Grant awards equal fifteen percent of a district's total undesignated giving from the previous Kiwanis year. This includes gifts from individuals, clubs, and other entities within the district to the Children’s Fund.

What they support:

Districts have plenty of freedom to determine the best use of their grant. Each district chooses how to utilize its grant funds to support activities within at least one of the following Children's Fund cause areas: health, education and youth leadership development. Complete eligibility requirements are outlined in the Terms and Conditions for District Grants.

Districts must qualify each year to apply for district grants. Learn more about the qualification process.

How districts request funds:

This grant program is by invitation only. Application information is sent to Children's Fund district chairs for eligible districts once final grant award amounts are available. The Children's Fund district chair applies for and administers the grant on behalf of their district.

Important dates:

December 1– Grant applications sent to district chairs by this date
March 1– Final day for district chairs to submit grant applications
October 1– Final day grant reports are accepted
