Estate giving

You insure your valuables. Why not insure your values? When you include the Kiwanis Children's Fund in your estate plans, that’s exactly what you do. A gift through your will makes a positive impact on children’s lives—even beyond your own. And your estate doesn’t have to be large to make a difference.

Estate giving opportunities include:

  • A bequest to the Children's Fund through a will or trust.
  • Life insurance that names the Kiwanis Children's Fund as a beneficiary.
  • A life income gift to the Children's Fund that also provides lifetime income for you or your loved ones.
  • Naming the Kiwanis Children's Fund as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or IRA.
  • An estate gift that deeds a residence to the Children's Fund while retaining your full rights to live on the property for life.

The Children's Fund is here to help. We can work with you to determine a gift that makes sense for you and your family—while exploring the tax benefits that might be available.* Download the estate giving toolkit and commitment form to get started.

Honoring your legacy

The Kiwanis Children’s Fund recognizes the profound impact that estate gifts make — in kids’ lives and for the future of Kiwanis International. Whether giving through wills, life insurance or retirement plans, these extraordinary people have decided to make an enduring investment in Kiwanis. That’s why we recognize them with membership in these societies:

The John E. Mayfield Legacy Society was created to celebrate a Kiwanian whose generosity and vision laid the foundation for the future success of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund. Membership is bestowed upon people who have made a documented estate gift commitment of at least US$100,000 to the Children’s Fund. This extraordinary group of people share John’s unwavering commitment to Kiwanis and to serving the children of the world.

The Mary and Bo Shafer Legacy Society was established to commemorate a duo whose impact on children’s lives continues to be a source of inspiration to Kiwanians. Membership honors people who have made a documented estate gift commitment of US$50,000 to US$99,999. They’re an exclusive group of members whose Kiwanis impact will last forever—and whose generosity helps carry on Bo and Mary’s remarkable legacy.

The Heritage Society honors Kiwanis members who have made a documented, estate gift commitment of any amount to the Children’s Fund. These members’ gifts are transforming their generosity into their legacies.
