KIWANIS CHILDREN’S FUND PRESIDENT


Robert S. Maxwell of Topeka, Kansas, was appointed to a three-year term as trustee of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund.

A member of the Kiwanis Club of Topeka since 1983, Robert has been recognized as second-level  Hixson Diamond, a second-level Zeller Diamond and a member of the Children’s Fund Founders Circle.

In the Kansas District, Robert has served as lieutenant governor, treasurer and governor. He was also a trustee and president of the Kansas Kiwanis Foundation.

“Anytime we can better the lives and abilities of children, there is a benefit to society,” Robert says. “I view the Kiwanis Children’s Fund as a means to attain that end.”

Robert is the executive vice president and trust officer for Kaw Valley Bank.

In his community, Robert enjoys volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, serving as a merit badge counselor and past president of Jayhawk Area Council of the Boy Scouts and working to provide affordable and sustainable housing to working to provide affordable and sustainable housing in Shawnee County for low- to moderate-income individuals.”

His wife, Jan, served as governor of the Kansas District in 2017-18.
