Elizabeth Tezza, Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, USA

• Kiwanis member since October 2001
• Professional career in management accounting and consulting for small businesses and non-profit organizations, including oversight of financial operations, strategic planning, policy development and budgeting for major projects
• Married to Tom Simmonite, who’s been a Kiwanian for ten years; one grown stepdaughter

Why did you decide to run for office?

I have a passion for Kiwanis and the children we serve, and want to ensure that our organization remains relevant and strong as we enter our second century of service. I believe the best way to do this is to continue to focus on our growth efforts through The Formula.

What qualifies you to become an officer of Kiwanis International?

My years in Kiwanis have provided me the opportunity to serve in many responsible positions and, together with my professional background in financial management, give me the experience necessary to lead Kiwanis. I am an effective communicator and a proponent of a team-based approach to opportunities for improvement.

How will you leave your mark on Kiwanis?

As a strong proponent of the I-Plan, I will fully support all goals of the strategic plan, especially membership growth and financial viability, thus paving the way for a strong future for Kiwanis.
