Kiwanis Children’s Fund earns highest rating from Charity Navigator

Jan 09, 2019

The Kiwanis Children’s Fund has again earned the coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the largest independent charity evaluator in the United States. The rating is Charity Navigator’s highest rating possible for demonstrating strong financial health and a commitment to accountability and transparency.

The designation sets the Kiwanis Children’s Fund apart from its peers, Charity Navigator CEO and president Michael Thatcher wrote in a letter announcing the rating. “Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that the Kiwanis Children's Fund exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work,” he said.

The 4-star rating highlights the work that the Children’s Fund has undertaken to support Kiwanis International’s mission of serving the children of the world. The Children’s Fund has been awarded three or four stars for seven consecutive years, with the most recent 4-star rating being given in 2015.

In addition to attaining the high rating from Charity Navigator, the Kiwanis Children’s Fund has received a Silver star for transparency from GuideStar and has been named an Accredited Charity by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.

The Children’s Fund helps serve children by focusing on causes Kiwanians are passionate about: club and district service projects, service leadership programs, disaster relief and our global health campaigns to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus and iodine deficiency disorders. The staff of the Children’s Fund also shares its fundraising and non-profit management expertise with Kiwanis clubs, districts and foundations.
