Giving Tuesday: Kids need Kiwanis to remain hopeful

On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, people around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate the giving spirit of the human heart. It’s the sixth annual Giving Tuesday, a movement to create a day of giving at the start of the holiday season.

At the Kiwanis Children's Fund, we help clubs provide essentials when disaster strike. On this day of giving the Children’s Fund is promoting one of our five causes – the disaster relief grant program. Through this program, we support Kiwanis-led projects that address crucial, immediate needs of natural disaster victims.

As we saw time and again this year, when disaster strikes, the Kiwanis family responds. And so does the Kiwanis Children's Fund. In 2016-17 alone, we supported Kiwanis-led disaster relief projects in Texas, the Caribbean, Sierra Leone, the Philippines, Ecuador, Malaysia and North Carolina--for a total of $51,500 in funds granted. These grants fed hungry bellies, provided essential first aid, provided shelter for children and families and so much more

Because natural disasters are unfortunately inevitable, we hope you'll help us stay prepared to provide relief during the next one with a gift this Giving Tuesday.
